Argentina, diversity in fusion: the 23 provinces
Río Negro, “Dreamy Labyrinths” Viedma is the provincial capital city and was founded by Francisco Biedma y Narváez, on April 22nd, 1979. It has a total surface area of 203013 Km2, representing 5 percent of the country’s total surface area. It is bounded in the South by the province of Chubut; in the North, by La Pampa and Neuquén; in the West, by the Republic of Chile, and in the East by the province of Buenos Aires. It has a population of 506314 inhabitants. Located in the Patagonia, this province has forests, oil and mines as its main resources. Over the last years tourism has gained importance.

La Pampa, “With tints oh History” Its capital city, Santa Rosa, was founded by Tomás Mason, on April 22nd, 1892. This province has a surface area of 143440 km2 and its population amounts to 260041 inhabitants. It is bounded in the North by the provinces of Mendoza, San Luis and Córdoba; in the South by the province of Río Negro; in the East, by the province of Buenos Aires; and in the West, by the provinces of Neuquén and Mendoza. Agriculture, cattle production and mining contribute to 50 % of its economic activity.
